Bird's Landing, Collinsville, Wind Turbines

Well, Allegra and Dani said it before me, but Collinsville (unincorporated), Bird's Landing and the wind turbine farm were truly amazing.

I will have to visit Shirley (ex Bird's Landing postmistress turned Tavern owner) again for more stories about drug busts, FBI paranoia, Clint Eastwood movie reenactments, runned down peacocks, drinking E clampus vitus dudes and their plaques, and abandoned puppies that end up perfect.

You can watch it whenever you want and just sit back and imagine the Bird's Landing wind in your hair.

no wind in my hair, cause I will have my head kerchief AND my visor on.

Shirley Pellegrini was in fact the postmistress, and her husband Mel ran a bar and a junkyard. Why no mention of Dora & Cliff Dana? I lived there when Eastwood filmed his biggest bust (Honkytonk Man). I still have many books that Ms. Benjamin's granddaughter gave to me. The wind turbines are a blight and produce very little power to offset the sheer ugliness of them. Ask Dora if she knows me (Leonard.) I bet she will.

Hi Leonard, thank you for commenting. I would love to find out more about the history of Bird's Landing and your experiences living there.

We were only visiting for a little over an hour and didn't have a chance to hear about Dora and Cliff. Shirley and another guy (the one with the dome structure in Collinsville) talked a lot about an art student named Jennifer who lived there temporarily and did several projects including a newsletter.

I'd love to hear from you again. My email is andyjwoodruff @ gmail dot com.
