Cesar and Mission construction - mystery solved

Sigh. Big sigh. I've been watching the construction at the old Kelly Moore site at Cesar and Mission and was scared to find out what was going up. My guess that it was going to be a Walgreens was right. Gawd. We already have a Walgreens at 23rd and at 30th!

Amuse Bouche at 24th Street BART

This week I've been enjoying a little treat before my commute. For $1 you can get a delicious little lemon poppyseed muffin and a dinky cup of homebrewed chai. It's all neatly cradled in a two-seater egg carton with a triangularly folded napkin. Excellent presentation!

Then what you can do is go down the BART stairs and enjoy your snack while you listen to the Manjo/Banjolin player, or the punk rock Johnny Cash guy. Let me tell you, this makes for a great start to the day.

CA State Taxes

I'm spastic about taxes. I did them last weekend. I just went online to check the status of my CA State return and this is what was there!


"Your return has been received and processed, however, your refund cannot be issued at this time.

Due to the state’s persistent cash and budget problems, the State Controller has directed FTB to stop sending refund requests to the State Controller’s Office for payment. Refund payments will resume when the State Controller indicates there is enough cash available to make refund payments."

Another dream

I had a dream that the way you type text messages is to tap on someone's teeth with your index finger. Each tooth represents a letter. When you touch a tooth the letter gets transferred to a phone. In my dream I did this to a willing stranger on a park bench. She had long straight hair and big, straight teeth.
